Royal Navy launches Nyan OWE at sea for the first time in Tri-Service trials
We are pleased to share the successful at-sea trial of the Callen-Lenz Nyan One-Way Effector (OWE), launched from the Royal Navy’s experimental vessel, XV Patrick Blackett for the first time.
Delivered as part of Exercise NEPTUNE REACH under Project VANTAGE, this Tri-Service activity brought together the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force to assess the performance and operational utility of Maritime One-Way Effectors. The Nyan OWE was safely launched and flown while the vessel was underway off the south coast of the United Kingdom.
The platform builds on proven operational use with the British Army, including deployment on Exercise SPRINGSTORM in Estonia, and continues to demonstrate its adaptability across domains.
Working alongside 26 Regiment Royal Artillery and 744 Naval Air Squadron, this trial marks a significant step forward in delivering Maritime One-Way Effectors at pace - with potential for further trials aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth.
These trials demonstrate the pace and progress we're delivering through Callen-Lenz. Our mission partnering supports our customers ambitions in combining crewed and uncrewed capability to expand reach, increase tempo and enhance capability.
