Civil applications using lightweight unmanned aircraft is a key area of development, with a strong emphasis on solutions which enable the practical, and commercially viable application of technology. Using our extensive background in aircraft development test and evaluation, we work with subject experts to jointly develop new capabilities and apply robust test principles to undertake structured projects and programmes.
Some of our current applied research includes emergent technologies and remote sensing techniques for the energy, environmental, forestry and agricultural sectors. Along with GIS experts, Environment Systems, we are conducting extensive research supported by the Welsh Government to develop remote sensing products for the agricultural sector: Project URSULA. Our wider research is focussing on disease detection, habitat mapping and intervention measures to aid land managers.
We are exploring the use of hyperspectral and multispectral arrays along with Lidar and advanced sensor technologies and software. We are keen to enhance the potential of this evolving technology and are interested to hear from potential partners, suppliers and end clients.
